Lucknow. In government secondary schools, there will be teachers in proportion to the number of students. Surplus teachers will be transferred to those schools where there is a shortage of teachers. The government has approved the adjustment of teachers in other schools. Soon the identification of surplus teachers will start.
On July 11, Director of Secondary Education Sarita Tiwari had sent a proposal to make adjustments to the teachers of Government Secondary Schools. The required number of teachers will be decided in proportion to the number of students studying in the schools relative to the allotted subjects. After this, subject wise surplus teachers working in schools will be identified and adjusted in other schools.
More than 15 thousand teachers are working in 2273 government secondary schools of the state. Out of these, a large number of teachers are such who are studying in urban or roadside schools. The number of teachers is very less in rural and unserved areas. There is a need to correct this imbalance. The department has not declared the student-teacher ratio.
Offline Transfers in Aided Secondary Colleges: During the transfer process, the Department of Secondary Education transferred government teachers online till June 30. The number of such teachers is said to be around 150. At the same time, the principals in government schools and teachers of non-government aided schools have been transferred offline. The officials of the department are not ready to make public how many teachers have got the benefit in all the three types of transfers.
The transfer of the vacant post of the minister was also in limbo: Teachers across the state had applied in large numbers to transfer the secondary education minister to the preferred schools. The minister accepted the applications against the vacant post and ordered for transfer and also directed the officers in other cases. These transfers have not happened yet. There is a preparation to take the approval of the government in this regard.
The proposal for adjustment of teachers of government secondary schools in other schools has been agreed. It has also been directed to take immediate action and apprise the government about it. Shambhu Kumar Special Secretary Secondary Education
