Lucknow. Lulu Mall of the capital Lucknow remains a topic of discussion these days. The controversy that started here about offering Namaz is increasing continuously. Political party leaders have also jumped into it. In this sequence, senior Samajwadi Party leader and MLA Azam Khan has also given his reaction on Thursday.
In a conversation with news agency ANI, on the question related to Lulu Mall of Lucknow, SP leader Azam Khan said that neither he has seen Lulu Mall nor does he know anything about it. He said, ‘Ama, we haven’t seen Lulu. We have not gone into any goods till date. Ask those who know what is the meaning of Lulu, Lolo, Teelu, Tolu… and there is no work at all.’
Lulu Mall has been in the news since its opening in Lucknow. It was inaugurated by CM Yogi Adityanath on 10th July and has been opened for the general public from 11th July. On July 13, three days after the inauguration, a video of him offering Namaz inside Lulu Mall went viral. But the matter did not end there.
After this some organizations threatened to read Hanuman Chalisa and Sundarkand there. Some people even reached to read Hanuman Chalisa in the goods. Following the protest, the Lulu Mall administration had to put up notices that no worship or namaz was allowed in the mall. An FIR was also registered in this case.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on the night of 18 July that the Lucknow administration should take it very seriously and should not accept any mischief of this kind. He should strictly deal with such elements who try to vitiate the atmosphere by promoting unnecessary matters.
UP Police, who came into action, arrested four accused of offering Namaz at Lulu Mall on July 19, while the search for four others is on. Police say that none of the accused is an employee of Lulu Mall. They were identified as Mo Rehan and Atif Khan, Mo Lokman and Mo Noman. All are residents of Lucknow.
