Lucknow. The hearing on the bail plea of Ashish Mishra alias Monu, son of the Union Minister of State for Home in the Tikunia case of Kheri, could not be completed even on Wednesday in the Lucknow Bench of the High Court. The matter will now come up for hearing on July 15.
On Wednesday, the state government opposed the bail of Ashish Mishra before a single bench of Justice Krishna Pahal. Senior advocate Gopal Chaturvedi, appearing for the accused, argued through video conferencing. He argued that the Supreme Court has ordered a re-hearing on the bail of Ashish Mishra.
This should not be construed to imply that the apex court has made any remarks against the bail plea. He also argued that 197 local people have given affidavits to the investigating agency that Ashish Mishra was present in the riot at the time of the incident.
It was also contended that the prosecution himself has accused the driver of driving the vehicle which means that the four persons who lost their lives due to Thar boarding were not murdered by Ashish Mishra. An argument was also made on behalf of the aggrieved party. However, the debate could not be completed due to paucity of time.
