Lucknow. So far, 260 people have been arrested by registering six FIRs in the violent demonstrations in different cities of the state regarding the new scheme of army recruitment ‘Agneepath’. Important clues have also been received by the intelligence agencies regarding the demonstration. Among them the name of Campus Front of India is also appearing, which is the student wing of Popular Front of India (PFI).
Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that the intelligence agencies have got some clues. They are being investigated. Action will be taken in this matter after the investigation comes to the fore. He said that resentment has been shown by some youths against the ‘Agneepath’ scheme. Protests have been reported at 17 places in UP. So far 260 people have been arrested in this case. There have been protests in some places. All the students are being explained about the advantages of the recruitment process.
The ADG said that in this case the police has registered a total of six FIRs. Of these, one each in Firozabad, Aligarh, Gautam Budh Nagar and three FIRs have been registered in Varanasi. Maximum 109 accused have been arrested from Ballia. The police have arrested 70 accused from Mathura, 30 from Aligarh, nine from Agra, 27 from Varanasi and 15 from Gautam Budh Nagar.
Hath Laga WhatsApp Chat: Intelligence agencies have also got a WhatsApp chat in the name of Campus Front of India. In this, an appeal has been made on January 17 against the ‘Agneepath’ scheme to take to the streets and spoil the atmosphere. Now the intelligence agency is carrying forward its investigation through this chat. ADG Law and Order said that the intelligence agencies have got the names of some organizations. On this basis, the investigation is being carried forward, legal action will be taken against whoever is guilty.
Protests against the Agneepath scheme took a violent turn in many cities of UP on Friday. The lava of indignation on Agneepath was such that the train bogie in Ballia erupted. Several vehicles, including a police post, were burnt to ashes in Aligarh’s Jattar. At various places, protesters targeted roadways buses.
