A heavy police force has been deployed at the Congress office in Lucknow, planning a protest by party workers in support of party leader Rahul Gandhi, who was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate today in the National Herald case. During this, the Congress workers going to the ED office were stopped midway by the police. On the protest of the activists, the police have detained them. On the other hand, activists Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi kept on raising slogans of Zindabad while climbing the police van.
Congress workers said that this is a failed attempt of the BJP government to intimidate the opposition. We oppose the dictatorial decision of the BJP government to make our leader Rahul Gandhi appear before the ED. During this, the workers demonstrated by lying on the road in front of the Congress state headquarters ED office. Many senior leaders including Congress spokesperson Mukesh Chauhan, Vice President Vishwa Vijay Singh, Convener/Spokesperson Anshu Awasthi have been detained by the police. Congress Legislature Party leader/MLA Aradhana Mishra Mona has also been placed under house arrest by the police at her Cantt residence. Former minister Congress leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui is also under house arrest.
A notice has also been pasted at the party office gate. In which it is written that you have to inform about the notice that according to the information received, it is proposed to take out a sit-in demonstration or procession at Congress Party Office 10 Mall Avenue Hussainganj Lucknow. While your permission has not been taken by you as per the rules. In this regard, Section 144 has already been implemented in Lucknow district by the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Commissionerate Lucknow with immediate effect. Contrary to the order, if any kind of dharna or procession is taken out by you in an unlawful manner, then you will be responsible for it. Action will also be taken against you as per law.
Let us tell you that due to the appearance of Rahul Gandhi in front of the ED today, Congress workers are registering protest by taking out demonstrations and processions from place to place.
