Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday did not miss an opportunity to highlight the differences between the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav. CM Yogi said that ‘you are close but not together’. In the SP camp, he also took a dig at Shivpal several times.
Supporting the motion of thanks brought by the government on the Governor’s address, CM Yogi Adityanath said that both the ruling party and the opposition need to jointly carry forward the development journey of the state. The Leader of Opposition spoke to Akhilesh Yadav and said that both of us are also traveling. Then pointing to the ruling party said that the only difference is that ‘we are together and also close together’.
After this, CM Yogi pointed to Akhilesh Yadav sitting in front and Shivpal Singh Yadav sitting at a distance from him and said that ‘You are close but not together’. On this, there was laughter in the ruling party and the opposition. Even Akhilesh and Shivpal could not stop laughing.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had already made its background. Referring to the plight of the state under the SP government, he said that before 2017 where potholes started in the roads, people used to say that it seems that Uttar Pradesh has come. On this some SP member said that uncle is sitting. The gesture was towards Shivpal as he was the Public Works Minister in the Akhilesh government.
Then Yogi smiled and said that I will come on uncle too. On this Akhilesh later had to say that till now he was my uncle but today the Leader of the House (Chief Minister) also called him uncle. Yogi said that as soon as socialism is mentioned, the picture of thinkers like Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Jai Prakash Narayan emerges, but now only Shivpal Singh’s writings are visible on Dr. Lohia. Laughter echoed again in the house.
Earlier, referring to his government’s tablet and smartphone distribution scheme, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath quipped, saying that ‘I am happy that Shivpal Singh Yadav distributed tablets and smartphones in his assembly constituency Jaswantnagar. At this there was a burst of laughter in the house.
Farrukhabadi sucked sugarcane, Khanna took the expressway: While presenting the amendment motion on the motion of thanks, Akhilesh Yadav had said on Wednesday that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna got the Ganga Expressway changed and took it to his district, otherwise its length would have been shorter. The Chief Minister told Akhilesh that you put Suresh Khanna in the dock regarding the Ganga Expressway. In Farrukhabad, you people also raised the slogan ‘Farrukhabadi chuse sugarcane, Expressway le gaye Khanna’. Then said that Suresh Khanna is a senior member of the House. Seniority should be respected. As soon as the Chief Minister said this, the house again burst into laughter because everyone understood that the gesture was towards Shivpal Singh. Yogi said that Ganga Expressway will be connected with Farrukhabad.
