Lucknow. In the investigation of Lucknow’s famous Shravan Sahu murder case, CBI has also held the then District Magistrate Gauri Shankar Priyadarshi and CO LIU AK Singh guilty of negligence. Sources say that the CBI has recommended departmental action against the then SSP Manzil Saini of Lucknow, besides the then DM and CO LIU. The then CO LIU AK Singh has retired.
The CBI investigation has revealed negligence in providing security to Shravan Sahu despite the threat to his life. Shravan Sahu had also appealed to the then DM regarding his safety, but he did not take cognizance of it. Earlier, the CBI had also recorded the statements of the then District Magistrate Priyadarshi.
Keep in mind, on February 1, 2017, businessman Shravan Sahu was shot dead in Saadatganj area of Lucknow. On the orders of the High Court, CBI Lucknow’s Special Crime Branch is investigating the Shravan Sahu murder case. CBI has filed charge sheet against the accused in the murder case.
Actually, businessman Shravan Sahu was lobbying in the court against the killers of his son. Shravan’s son Ayush Sahu was murdered on 16 October 2013, of which he was the sole witness. The negligence of all the high officials of Lucknow in providing security to Shravan Sahu despite the threat to his life has come to the fore.
Shravan had also requested the then SSP Manzil Saini and DM GS Priyadarshi for protection. He had ignored it. Later on February 1, 2017, Shravan Sahu was shot dead by miscreants entering his shop.
After the murder of Ayush, the Lucknow Police had registered a fake case by naming his father Shravan Sahu as the accused. After this, the then SSP Manzil Saini had suspended six police personnel along with sacking a policeman and two constables.
Later, Shravan Sahu met Manzil Saini and pleaded for security, citing danger to his life, on which no hearing was held. At the same time, Shravan Sahu had also given an application to the DM, requesting for protection, but the file was hanging in the District Magistrate’s office as well.
On February 20, 2017, the High Court handed over the investigation of Ayush and Shravan’s murders to the CBI. Not only this, the role of the police was also directed to the CBI to investigate and then the CBI had filed a charge sheet in the court on May 11, 2017 in the Shravan murder case.
