The Samajwadi Party has also attacked the BJP government over the rising prices of petrol and diesel. The Samajwadi Party wrote in a tweet that, ‘Inflation, inflation, inflation, by increasing the price of petrol and diesel day by day, the government is scratching the wounds of the common man. By increasing the prices for the ninth day in a row, the BJP has proved that it is only concerned with filling its coffers and not with public concern.

The increase in the prices of petrol and diesel started from Tuesday: Petrol in Varanasi was Rs 96.11 per liter on Monday, it increased to Rs 96.91 per liter on Tuesday. Similarly, diesel was reduced from Rs 87.63 per liter to Rs 88.44 per litre.
In a way, 80 paise per liter was increased in petrol and 71 paise per liter in diesel. Petrol was now available for Rs 96.14 per liter at Bharat Petroleum pumps in Gorakhpur. Earlier, petrol was available at Rs 95.34 per liter. Similarly, diesel was found for Rs 87.67.
Earlier diesel was getting Rs 86.87 per liter. Speed petrol prices were also hiked by 80 paise per litre. Earlier, speed petrol was available for Rs 98.03 per liter. Its price on Tuesday was Rs 98.83 per liter.
