Lucknow. The envelope of good fortune will open just before the swearing-in ceremony on Friday, but the equations have certainly opened doors of possibilities for many MLAs. It was believed that in the meeting of the BJP Legislature Party, it would be clear about the Deputy Chief Minister, but no such announcement was made. Now if there is doubt, then there are possibilities among them that Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr. Dinesh Sharma can again become associates of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as Deputy Chief Ministers.
Ever since the victory of the BJP in the assembly elections, there has been a lot of speculation about the Yogi Adityanath cabinet. There is a logic behind each name. Most of the discussion in this is about who will become the Deputy Chief Minister now? Since Keshav Prasad Maurya has lost the election, his claim was said to be weak, so there was talk of sending Dr. Dinesh Sharma to the organization.
Here, when BJP lost the election, Pushkar Singh Dhami was again made the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, then the speculations about Keshav changed. It was said that the same formula could apply here as well, because Maurya possesses organizational skills and is one of the prominent leaders of the Backward Classes.
Now why would the party want to anger the Brahmin class before the Lok Sabha elections by making him the deputy CM alone? So Dinesh can also be recreated. These arguments got air even when both of them got a place on the stage of the Legislature Party meeting and then they were also involved in the delegation that went to the Raj Bhavan to propose to form the government.
However, the name of BJP state president Swatantradev Singh and former Uttarakhand governor Babyrani Maurya as a Dalit leader is also running among the contenders for this post. If not the Deputy Chief Minister, then both of them are believed to be made cabinet ministers.
Among the key positions is the chair of the Speaker of the Assembly. There is speculation that ninth-time MLA Suresh Khanna, a veteran of parliamentary work, may be given this responsibility, while parliamentary affairs minister, senior and experienced MLA Surya Pratap Shahi may be made.
Babyrani Maurya’s name is also being run as Speaker of the Assembly with the logic of message to Dalits and women, but this argument is undermined by the fact that little experience can become a hindrance in the way of becoming a first time MLA. If the Dalit has to be made the Speaker of the Assembly, then the party can put this bet on the experienced Ramapati Shastri, who has been elected as the Pro-tem Speaker.
The veterans of the old cabinet will return again: If you remove Swami Prasad Maurya, Dr. Dharam Singh Saini and Dara Singh Chauhan, who were ministers in the first term of the Yogi government, eleven ministers have lost the election. Apart from Keshav, there is very little chance of any lost minister being given this chance again, but the return of the old stalwarts who were in the cabinet is certain. Among them are Satish Mahana, Jaipratap Singh, Ashutosh Tandon, Shrikant Sharma, Brijesh Pathak, Kapil Dev Agarwal, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Jitin Prasad etc., who can be given more important departments than before.
They can get a place in the cabinet: Big victory, many parameters including women, youth and caste equation will form the basis for the formation of new cabinet of Yogi. The youth may have names like Pankaj Singh, Neeraj Bora, Shalabmani Tripathi, Aditi Singh, Prakash Dwivedi, while those who defeated the opposition giants include names like Rajesh Chaudhary, Ketki Singh, Dayashankar Singh. Nitin Agarwal, who was made the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly in the previous government, can be made a minister now. Apna Dal SK working president Ashish Patel and Nishad Party president Dr. Sanjay Nishad are also expected to become cabinet ministers.
Asim, Rajeshwar and AK Sharma will also get a chance: The names of Asim Arun, Sarojininagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh and MLC AK Sharma, who won from Kannauj, are also possible in the list of cabinet ministers. Since many retired officers have been made ministers in the Modi government, all three fit this formula. AK Sharma retired IAS officer, Asim retired IPS officer and Rajeshwar Singh have come into politics by taking voluntary retirement from Enforcement Directorate. In these, Asim’s claim of being a Dalit also gets stronger. Only these three can be given important departments.
