Gorakhpur. The Gorakhpur unit of STF arrested four smugglers including a car in Nandanagar on Saturday night. 2.5 kg smack/brown sugar, five mobile phones, Rs 3050 and Aadhar card were recovered from their possession. Smugglers living in Barabanki district were going to Raxaul in Bihar with smack. After registering a case of NDPS Act, the accused were presented in the court on Sunday evening, from where they were sent to jail.
Caught in Gorakhpur while going from Lucknow to Raxaul
STF Lucknow team got information that youths of Barabanki district are involved in drug smuggling. By car, these people have left to go to Raxaul in Bihar with smack. On the information of the team of Lucknow, Inspector of STF Gorakhpur, Alok Rai, along with the team, laid siege in Nandanagar and caught four car smugglers. On search, 2.50 kg smack was found from them, which is worth Rs 2.5 crore in the international market. During interrogation, the accused were identified as Mo. Parvez Shah, resident of Tikra village, Zaidpur in Barabanki district, Irshad Ansari, resident of Saadatganj, Masauli, Rakesh Verma, resident of Bharathipur and Ramendra Singh alias Guddu, resident of Akhiyapur in Safdarganj.
Send smack in Nepal too
During interrogation, the accused told that Gulley, a resident of Rampur Sahibganj in Barabanki, gives raw material to those people, from which they prepare smack and give it to Aslam, a resident of Raxaul. Instead of smack, he gives rupees or charas. Aslam and Gulle are the kingpins of the gang. The arrested smugglers also smuggle drugs in Nepal. Inspector-in-Charge Cantt Shashibhushan Rai said that four cases are already registered against Parvez. The criminal records of other accused are being collected.
Car was bought with smuggled money: The arrested accused told during interrogation that they had bought the car with the money found by smuggling smack. Parvez told that the car recovered belonged to Brijesh of his Rakesh. Which he had bought six months ago. So that no one doubts them.
Accused of raping a teenager arrested: The Barhalganj Kotwali police has arrested a person from Jhumila Bazar on the charge of raping a teenager. In-charge Inspector Barhalganj Umesh Bajpai said that Ramu Yadav, son of Satan Yadav, a resident of Majhawalia of Barhalganj, is accused of raping a girl from Gola. On the complaint of a relative, the police was looking for the accused by registering a case under the rape and POCSO Act. Meanwhile, the police got information that the accused Jhumila is present in the market. Police raided the spot and arrested the accused and sent him to jail.
