New Delhi. Indian team captain Rohit Sharma had arrived to answer media questions before the first T20 against Sri Lanka starting on Thursday. He said that he feels good to see new players performing well when given a chance but does not want any player to be part of the team because of someone’s injury. We will have a chance to give him a chance in the team through rotation.
He said, “It is good to see that a youngster is ready to come in place of a senior but I do not want any senior player to get injured and the youngster gets a chance, he should get a chance to see us. I myself have been through a lot of injuries. I’ve gone through that and I know how hard it is to go through an injury.”
Rohit further said, “Once you recover from injury and then come back after recovering, then it seems that you have come to a new world. You have to start from zero. So it is not so easy to come back after injury. While playing, I understand that no one gets hurt and the team continues as it is.
“The rotation keeps happening, I hope the players keep changing in the team because we have seen a lot of matches, now we have this happening. It is also important to keep the boys away from the game for a few days to keep their mind fresh. We will have to do it and we will do it but I hope no one gets hurt. The new boys will also get a chance to see us and the ones we are rotating can come back too.”
