Bareilly. Excise officers are surrounded all-round by mercy on liquor mafia Manoj Jaiswal trapped in tax evasion of Rs.100 crore. Despite this, kindness is still being shown for the mafia at every step. The licenses of liquor mafia’s wife and brothers, which should have been canceled by now, have not been canceled, they have definitely been renewed. This means that in the ongoing renewal process for the financial year 2022-23, the Excise Department renewed the licenses of all three shops.
According to the information, the renewal process for the financial year 2022-23 had started in January 2022 itself. In January, the concerned liquor merchants had to upload the complete forms online for renewal with a token money of Rs 25,000 per license. After the date of uploading the online form is over, the Excise Department checks the relevant forms. If the form is found correct in the investigation, the concerned has to deposit half of the license fee. Its date was from 25 January to 7 February, which has passed. The traders who came in the renewal process deposited half the fee.
The last date for depositing the remaining half fee is February 22. Under the renewal process itself, the bricks of Kanupriya, wife of liquor mafia Manoj Jaiswal, were renewed for his brother Neeraj Jaiswal’s Nawada Shekhan and Vikas Jaiswal’s fort. Vikas’s registered shop was allotted to him after the death of his mother Pushpa. Action was to be taken to cancel these licenses, which were accused of being restored by the then DM. In such a situation, once again questions are being raised on renewal of licenses of Mafia’s wife and brother.
Commissioner Excise has put the ball in the court of DM
In the license cancellation case, against the order of the then DM, District Excise Officer Dev Narayan Dubey appealed in the Commissioner Excise Court. The commissioner had heard the appeal of the District Excise Officer. In the hearing, taking seriously the criminal cases of tax evasion, mafia, the Commissioner Excise had asked the DM to reconsider the order of withdrawing the notice in the past. However, no action has been taken so far in this matter.
Excise officers are presently on leave. He has asked for a report on the whole matter. Further action will be ensured after seeing the report as soon as they come back. – Shivakant Dwivedi, DM
