Lakhimpur Kheeri. Ashish Mishra alias Monu, the main accused of Tikuniya incident in Lakhimpur Kheri, which has heated up the country’s politics with Uttar Pradesh, has been released from jail after nearly four months. Ashish Mishra got bail from Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court.
Ashish Mishra alias Monu, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni, was made the main accused in the violence that erupted after a riot in Lakhimpur Kheri’s Tikuniya on October 3, killing eight people, including four farmers and a journalist. The SIT had sent Ashish Mishra to jail on October 10, making him the main accused in the death of eight people. Ashish Mishra’s lawyer Awadhesh Singh told the media that today Ashish Mishra Monu has been released from jail. During this time there will be no restriction on their going out of the city. In the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, Ashish Mishra has been made the main accused in the chart sheet of about four thousand pages of the SIT.

Ashish Mishra Monu, the main accused of Kheri violence, was granted bail from the High Court on February 10, but, in the order, sections 302 and 120B were omitted from being IPC. After this, an amendment application was filed in the High Court on Friday, February 11. After the amendment application was approved in the High Court on Monday, Ashish’s advocate moved the District Judge’s court here to fix the bail amount.
After the hearing, the District Judge had ordered the release of Ashish after furnishing two sureties of three lakh each and a surety of the same amount. After reaching the court for verification from the respective police stations on Tuesday, the court ordered the release of Ashish Mishra and sent him to jail. The order was received in jail. Ashish Mishra was released today after completion of some formalities.
