Lucknow. The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday released a list of candidates for the constituencies of the seventh and final phase of polling in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022. There are nine candidates in this list. These candidates are from Azamgarh, Mau, Ghazipur and Chandauli districts.
After finalizing the names of the BJP Central Election Committee, the Rajya Sabha member in charge of the BJP Central Office, Arun Singh, on Saturday released the list containing the names of nine candidates. BJP has elected Arvind Jaiswal from Mubarakpur in Azamgarh, Poonam Saroj from Mohammadabad Gohna reserved seat of Mau, Ashok Singh from Mau Sadar of Mau, Mihilal Gautam from Machlishahr reserved seat of Jaunpur, Kalicharan Rajbhar from Zahurabad in Ghazipur, Ramesh Jaiswal from Mughalsarai in Chandauli, Kailash Kharwar has been fielded from Chakia reserved seat of Chandauli, Anil Maurya from Ghorwal of Sonbhadra and Sanjeev Gond from Obra reserved seat of Robertsganj.
BJP MLA’s ticket cut in Mau, Ashok Singh against Mukhtar Due to the declaration of MLA Shri Ram as the candidate in the earlier list, in dozens of villages of the assembly constituency, the local people had burnt the effigy in protest. Taking cognizance of this, the top leadership of BJP has given ticket to the local candidate after cutting the MLA’s ticket. The BJP has nominated Ashok Singh, a resident of Kaithavali, against Mukhtar Ansari on Mau Sadar, the most popular seat of Purvanchal. In 2009, Premprakash Singh Manna, a PWD contractor, was shot dead near Union Bank at Ghazipur Tiraha. Manna Singh’s brother Ashok Singh was the main witness in this case. Before the 2017 assembly, Ashok Singh had joined the BJP. In 2017 itself, he was a strong contender from the Sadar seat, but in the BJP-SubhaSP alliance, he was deprived of the ticket due to the seat going to the account of SubhaSP.
BJP made Kalicharan candidate from Zahoorabad: BJP has played bets on Kalicharan Rajbhar, who has a good identity, to surround Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Omprakash Rajbhar from Ghazipur’s Zahurabad seat. Kalicharan Rajbhar recently left the SP and joined the BJP. He has been MLA from BSP twice. Omprakash Rajbhar, the national president of SubhaSP, is the MLA from Jahurabad. He had won this seat in the 2017 assembly elections. At that time there was an alliance of Subhasp and BJP. After this Rajbhar also got a place in the Yogi cabinet, he took a different path. This time the SubhaSP has an alliance with the Samajwadi Party. BJP has declared Kalicharan Rajbhar as its candidate from Zahoorabad. Kalicharan left the SP and joined the BJP a month ago. For the first time in the year 2002, MLA was elected from Zahoorabad on BSP ticket. In 2007, he again became MLA from Zahoorabad on a BSP ticket. In 2021, he moved to the Samajwadi Party and has now joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Arvind Jaiswal BJP candidate from Mubarakpur: BJP announced its candidate on the only remaining seat on Saturday. 50-year-old Arvind, originally from Ajmatgarh State in Sagadi tehsil, started politics from Congress in 1991 after BA from Maltari Degree College and law from Lucknow University and became the chairman of Ajmatgarh Nagar Panchayat in 2002. At the same time, Congress gave ticket to the assembly from Sagdi and was reduced to number four. Then in 2012, got a chance and finished third. In 2014, got a ticket for the Lok Sabha, but did not get success. Arvind, who has held the responsibility of Youth Congress and District Congress President, joined the BJP in the year 2016 and after that he was made the Regional Vice President.
From Machhalishahr BJP bets on common worker: From Machhalishahr reserved seat, BJP has bet on 48-year-old Menhilal Gautam. On Saturday, the party has strengthened its claim by declaring him as the candidate. Mehilal started his politics from 2001 as a common worker of BJP. At present he is the BJP District General Secretary. Mehilal, a resident of Matri Mathura village of Machhlishahr area, was also the village head from 2010 to 2015. They mainly run a tire shop at Sujanganj intersection of the city and do farming work at home. The youngest of three brothers, Mehilal has studied till Inter.
Minister Sanjeev Gond as Obra and MLA Anil Maurya candidate: BJP has declared Minister of State for Social Welfare Sanjeev Gond as Obra and MLA Anil Maurya as candidate from Ghorawal. Sanjeev Gond was elected MLA for the first time in 2017 from Obra on a BJP ticket. After this, in the year 2021, he was given the status of Minister of State for Social Welfare in expansion. In the Ghoraval assembly seat, the party has expressed its trust in MLA Anil Maurya. Anil Maurya has been a two-time MLA from BSP. Anil Maurya is going to try his luck for the fifth time in the assembly elections.
The seventh and final phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh is to be held on March 7. For which the process of nomination is going on, which will continue till February 17. In the seventh and final phase, polling will be held in 54 assembly constituencies of nine districts namely Azamgarh, Mau, Jaunpur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Ghazipur, Chandauli and Sonbhadra. The last date for nominations in these regions is February 17. If the letters will be scrutinized by February 18, then the last date for withdrawal of nominations has been kept on February 21.
