New Delhi. The mega auction of the Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL 2022) is to be held on February 12-13. Meanwhile, all IPL franchises would like to build a strong team, which can give them great results in the future. According to the information, 1214 players have registered for the auction. There are 896 Indian and 318 foreign players in this. A total of 49 players have kept their base price of Rs 2 crore. Of these, 17 players are Indians, while the rest are foreigners. Some of these players will also remain unsold. Let’s talk about three such Indian players who can remain unsold.
Umesh Yadav
Umesh Yadav does not appear to play for Team India in ODIs and T20s. He has not got much chance in the last two editions of IPL. Umesh Yadav conceded a lot of runs in the powerplay as well as the death while playing for RCB in the 2019 season. Things did not go very well in 2020 as well and Umesh Yadav was bought by Delhi Capitals before the 2021 season. However, he did not play a single match during the season. Looking at other young Indian bowlers including Avesh Khan and famous Krishna, it can be said that there is very little chance that any team will bid for Umesh Yadav in the mega auction.
Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik last played an international for India in the ICC 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. Since then the team management has ignored him. Karthik played for Kolkata Knight Riders till last year. However, the franchise decided not to retain him for the next edition of the tournament. In the last few years, he did not perform in the IPL, considering that any franchise showed interest in him. He scored 223 runs in 17 matches last year at an average of 22.30. One should not be surprised if he goes unsold in the auction.
Suresh Raina
No one can deny that Suresh Raina has played a vital role in the success of CSK in IPL. He is the highest run-scorer for CSK in the history of IPL. However, the franchise surprised everyone after he was not retained for the next season of the tournament. Perhaps this decision was taken due to the decline in his form. He struggled a lot in the 2021 season of the tournament. He scored 160 runs in 12 matches at a poor average of 17.77. Suresh Raina has played some great innings in IPL before this. However, given his current form, he is likely to remain unsold in the auction.
