Muzaffarnagar. Managers of two private schools in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district have been accused of sexually assaulting 17 girls and attempting to rape them by allegedly giving them intoxicants. Police have registered a case against both the people in this case. Along with this, a police officer has been put on line for being negligent in this matter.
Muzaffarnagar district senior superintendent of police Abhishek Yadav said on Monday that after the intervention of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and local MLA Pramod Utwal, a case was registered on the complaint of the family. He told that Vinod Kumar Singh, in-charge of Purkaji police station, was put on line for alleged negligence in this matter. At the same time, a report has been filed against Yogesh Kumar Chauhan, the operator of Surya Dev Public School located in Bhopa police station, and Arjun Singh, the operator of GGS International School in Purkaji area, under sections of sexual harassment, drug delivery and POCSO Act.
Yadav said that the alleged incident took place when Yogesh had taken 17 girls studying in 10th standard in Surya Dev Public School to GGS school for practical exams and they had to stay there overnight. According to the complaint by the relatives of the victims, both the accused sexually assaulted the minor girls and tried to rape them by allegedly giving them narcotics.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Yadav also told that the family members have complained that the accused threatened the girls not to tell anyone about the incident. According to the family, when they reached the local police, they did not take any action, after which they contacted the MLA.
The SSP said that the two persons of the school management have been booked under Indian Penal Code 328 (causing harm by poison etc. with intent to commit offence), 354 (assault or criminal force with intent to outrage the dignity of a woman) and sexual assault. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Offenses Act (POCSO).
