Nainital. The Nainital High Court has passed orders to release former MP DP Yadav, the Bahubali leader of Uttar Pradesh. Also the order of the CBI court has been quashed. Three others, including a former MP, were sentenced to life imprisonment by a CBI court in Dehradun in connection with the murder of Ghaziabad MLA Mahendra Bhati. At the same time, after the order of the High Court, Mahendra Bhati’s nephew Sanjay Bhati has reacted saying that he will appeal against this order in the Supreme Court.
On Wednesday, a division bench of Chief Justice RS Chauhan and Justice Alok Kumar Verma pronounced the appeal of former MP DP Yadav. The court, setting aside the order of the lower court, found no concrete evidence against him and released him. DP Yadav is still on interim bail. The court has reserved the decision in the appeals of other accused in this murder case.
In fact, on September 13, 1992, Mahendra Bhati, the MLA of Ghaziabad, was shot dead in broad daylight. In this case, a case of murder was registered against DP Yadav, Preneet Bhati, Karan Yadav and Pal Singh alias Lakkar Pala. On 15 February 2015, the CBI court in Dehradun sentenced the four murderers to life imprisonment. Against this order, the four accused have been challenged in the High Court through special appeal.
