New Delhi. The body of Kannada superstar Puneet Rajkumar has been cremated with state honors in Bengaluru. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and several superstars of the southern film industry arrived to bid him farewell. Although his funeral was to be held on Saturday, his daughter Vandita could not reach India from America till then. So he was buried in the presence of relatives on Sunday morning.

The whole country was shocked by the news of Puneet’s demise on Friday. Fans could not believe how their favorite actor could go like this. Many veterans, including PM Modi and CM Basavaraj Bommai, expressed their grief over his demise. So much crowd of fans gathered for Puneet’s last darshan that seeing the situation deteriorating, the administration had to impose section 144.

Puneet’s popularity can be gauged from the fact that only after hearing the news of his demise, 2 fans died due to shock. One fan committed suicide by hanging. At present, Section 144 is in force in Bengaluru city and it has been placed on high alert. Millions of fans had been standing at the Kantirwa Stadium, where Puneet’s body was laid to rest for the last rites, since Friday evening to bid farewell to their power star.
Puneet lived in the hearts of the people
Saying goodbye to this world at the age of just 46, Puneet has done a lot for the common people. According to media reports, Puneet had donated Rs 50 lakh to the CM Relief Fund during the Corona epidemic. Puneet was responsible for the higher education of 45 schools, 26 orphanages, 16 old age homes, 19 cowsheds and 1800 orphan girls.
