Lucknow. The troubles of Azam Khan, the founder of Jauhar University of Rampur and Samajwadi Party MP from Rampur, lodged in Sitapur Jail in Uttar Pradesh, are getting bigger. Apart from capturing government land in Rampur, Azam Khan, who is facing about five dozen other cases, is now also under the money laundering case.
In the case of money laundering, now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team will go to Sitapur Jail and interrogate Azam Khan. The team can interrogate Azam Khan anytime from 20 to 24 September. Azam Khan, one of the founding members of the Samajwadi Party, has been a cabinet minister in Uttar Pradesh along with Mulayam Singh Yadav in the government of Akhilesh Yadav. His wife former Rajya Sabha member Dr. Tanzeem Fatma is now MLA from Rampur. His son Abdullah Khan was also an MLA, but he lost his legislature in the case of forgery in passport and birth certificate and he is also lodged in Sitapur jail along with father Azam Khan. There was also a case against Azam Khan’s wife for possession of government land. She was also lodged in Sitapur Jail, but is now out after getting bail.
After receiving the money laundering case against Azam Khan, the ED team will go to Sitapur Jail from September 20 to 24 and interrogate Azam Khan. The investigation is going on after Azam Khan’s statement of receiving money from abroad in Jauhar University of Rampur. Along with this, the ED team will also question Azam Khan about the deal of several acres of land of Jauhar University.
