A contract was signed between Yamuna Authority and DMRC to study the possibility of running an express train from Pari Chowk to Jewar Airport in Greater Noida and connecting it to Delhi Metro.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for running the Express Metro. Along with this, a prospect report will be prepared regarding the track from Pari Chowk to Shivaji Metro Station in New Delhi.
Yamuna Development Authority Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Arunveer Singh said that on Thursday, the contract was signed to prepare the DPR of Jewar-Greater Noida Metro and the prospect report regarding the track from Pari Chowk to Shivaji Metro Station in New Delhi.
The DPR from Greater Noida to Jewar Airport was made in the past. 25 stations were proposed in it. The work of revised DPR of this route has been given to DMRC. There will be 35.64 km of track from Greater Noida to Jewar Airport or it will be an express line like Delhi Airport Metro.
He said that five to six stations would be built in the Express Metro. Its speed limit will be up to 120 kmph. Its first station will be Knowledge Park II and the last station will be Noida Airport Terminal. This metro will go along the expressway. It is estimated that about five thousand crore rupees will be spent in making this.
The CEO said that DMRC will study to connect this route with Shivaji Metro station. If Greater Noida will be connected by this route, then Delhi and Jewar airport will be connected with each other by metro.
