New Delhi. The remaining matches of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are going to start in the UAE from September 19. For the second part of IPL 2021, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), captained by Virat Kohli, has added Sri Lankan team spinners Vanindu Hasaranga and Dushmanta Chamira with them, but the surprising thing is that the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has not yet approved these. No Objection Certificate (NOC) has been given to the players.
SLC secretary Mohan D’Silva, while talking to Cricbuzz, has told that the board has not given him permission yet. He has said, “I don’t know, I will have to investigate it. We are in lockdown till the end of the month.” He further said that the board will take a decision on the players only when an application for a no-objection certificate is made before them. Mohan de Silva has said, “We have not taken any decision yet, as they will have to apply for NOC. We are not aware of the selection of these players, nor have they sought permission from us.”
Both the cricketers did their best in the home series against India and gave a glimpse of what they can achieve if given the opportunity. Hasaranga will replace Adam Zampa of Australia, while Chamira will replace Daniel Sams of Australia in the remaining matches of IPL 2021. Apart from this, Tim David has been added by RCB in place of Finn Allen.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday announced a slew of changes in their combination ahead of IPL 2021 in the UAE, including the addition of Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga as Adam Zampa’s replacement. Head coach Simon Katich has stepped down for personal reasons. In such a situation, Mike Hesson will be seen handling the responsibility of the head coach, who is also the director of cricket of RCB.
