The Taj Mahal opens at night from 8:30 to 12:30, two days before and two days after the full moon. Tourists are allowed to stay in the Taj Mahal for half an hour in eight slots. In view of this, the Taj Mahal will be opened for tourists at night after 517 days in the Corona period. Due to night curfew, tourists will be able to visit the memorial only in three slots.
To see the Taj at night on Saturday, 133 tourists booked tickets on Friday. These include nine foreign and 124 Indian tourists. The Taj Mahal will be opened on Saturday for two and a half hours at night, due to the curfew being imposed from 10 am to 6 am, only three slots from 8:30 to 9:30 pm can be seen in the night. All slots are of half an hour duration.
Due to the lockdown on Saturday and Sunday during the Corona period, the Taj Mahal could open only for four days. Due to the end of the lockdown on Saturday this month, instructions were given to open the Taj. Relief will come from the end of lockdown
The tourism entrepreneurs also appreciated the decision of the Chief Minister on ending the lockdown on Sunday. Hotel and Restaurant Association President Rakesh Chauhan said that this will give some relief to the ruined tourism industry. Deepak Dan, President, Tourist Guides Welfare Association, said that this will help the rickshaw pullers, taxi drivers, hawkers, restaurant and hotel workers, emporium workers and handicraftsmen all over the state depend for their livelihood on the arrival of tourists in large numbers. Families will also get a big relief.
District Magistrate Prabhu N Singh said, “The administration has no objection to the opening of the Taj Mahal on Sunday, but for online tickets, the ASI will have to make some changes. Will be updated by Saturday evening.
