London. New Zealand’s World Test Championship winning (WTC) team captain Kane Williamson said a one-match (Test) final is thrilling but it doesn’t give the full picture of how strong Virat Kohli’s Indian team is. New Zealand beat the Indian team by eight wickets in the rain-hit WTC final.
“It (the final of a match) provides excitement but, it never really tells the whole picture,” Williamson said. We know that India is a strong team. They are a great team and we are proud to have won this match but, that doesn’t tell the fact how strong they are and what skills they have. No doubt they will win many matches. You know about their quality. They have a pace attack that is the best in the world, the spin bowler is unbelievable and the batting needs no mention.
“It was a reality to expect every result and we were trying to do as much as we could,” he said. We weren’t doing anything different for the last few days and just wanted to see how the game turns out when we get an opportunity. .
“It was great to take wickets at the start of the last day, which created more chances for results that day,” he said. After that the Indian team also retaliated and they also had a chance. The bowlers were getting help from the pitch. It was difficult for us.
