Aligarh. The proceedings of the police and crime branch continued on Friday even after the Aligarh connection of the counterfeit drugs racket caught in Lucknow-Kanpur was added. In the proceedings of Mohalla Brahmanpuri of Sasnigate police station, while recovering a cache of fake medicines worth Rs 50 lakh, the arrested accused was sent to jail. The team raided Khurja, Meerut throughout the day regarding the main gangster.
In Lucknow’s Aminabad, the crime branch team had recovered medicines worth about two crore rupees from a warehouse of counterfeit medicines. When the crime branch reached the kingpin running the entire racket, there were shocking revelations. After which on Thursday, the crime branch team of Lucknow-Kanpur raided the police station Sasnigate along with the officers of the Drugs Department.
The action was taken by the team throughout the night. According to the police, in the course of Operation-420, accused Ashok Kumar Gupta has been arrested with spurious adulterated drugs. In this case, a case has been registered in the police station Sasnigate under other sections including NDPC Act, 18A/27. The estimated value of the goods recovered from the possession of the accused is Rs 50 lakh.

Apart from Ashok Kumar, Kamalendra Singh Pundir alias Kukku, resident of Girdhari Lal Gali, Ramlila Ground, GT Road, has also been named in the case of counterfeit drugs in Sasnigate police station. According to the FIR, the cuckoo has been shown to flee from the spot taking advantage of the crowd.
