Dehradun. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday. He invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate the Badri-Kedar Development Project. The Chief Minister said that due to the closure of roads during monsoon and calamity, the situation of cut-off in rural areas is created, so additional quota should be given to deliver the vaccine in these areas.
The much-awaited meeting of Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat with Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finally taken place. This is the first meeting of Tirath Singh Rawat with Prime Minister Modi after becoming the Chief Minister in March last. Earlier this meeting could not take place due to the Chief Minister being corona infected. In this meeting, which lasted for about half an hour, Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat said that under the vision of the Prime Minister, the work of roads in the Char Dhams is going on fast. The grand form of Shrikedarnath Dham has developed. An outline is being prepared regarding Badrinath Dham.
The Chief Minister said that the environment in Uttarakhand is very sensitive. Glacier and Water Resources Research Center should be established in the state to study glaciers in the entire Himalayan region and to study how to preserve water sources. While thanking the Prime Minister for sanctioning three Doppler radars to the state, he also requested for providing 10 small radars for the valley areas. He also urged for special grant from the Central Government to develop Uttarakhand as an organic state. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat also requested to establish AIIMS in Kumaon region or to set up a branch of AIIMS Rishikesh.
He said that on the instructions of the Prime Minister, the public got immense benefit from the hospitals built by DRDO in Rishikesh and Haldwani. He said that it is the result of the visionary thinking of the Prime Minister that the state got all kinds of assistance from the Center to fight against Kovid-19. He thanked the Prime Minister for providing free corona vaccination to all Indians above the age of 18 in the country and for providing the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line to the state. He also presented Kandali’s jacket to the Prime Minister.
