Rishikesh. A 72-year-old woman resident of Aligarh Uttar Pradesh, a black fungus infected with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh, died on Tuesday. In Uttarakhand, the death toll from this disease has increased to two. Five more patients infected with black fungus have been admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh on Tuesday. Here the number of patients suffering from this disease has increased to 30.
Cases of black fungus infection among corona virus infections are also increasing steadily. At the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh, two such patients have died so far. On Friday, a 36-year-old youth from Dehradun died of the disease. On Tuesday, a 72-year-old woman resident of Aligarh Uttar Pradesh also died during treatment of black fungus. On Tuesday, five more patients with this disease have been admitted here.
Dr. Amit Tyagi, leader and ent surgeon of the team formed for the treatment of black fungus in AIIMS, said that 30 patients infected with black fungus have so far come to AIIMS Rishikesh for treatment. Two patients have died. One patient was discharged on Tuesday, after recovering. At present, there are a total of 27 patients admitted here. 18 patients infected with black fungus have been operated on.
He said that among the Black Fungus infected patients admitted to AIIMS, 17 patients from Uttarakhand and 13 from Uttar Pradesh were included. A separate ward of 30 beds has been made for such patients. An additional ward will be created as the number of patients increases. A team of 15 doctors are caring for and treating these patients admitted here.
