Indrani Roy, the young wicket-keeper batsman from Jharkhand, has been selected for the first time in India’s Test and ODI women’s team for the tour of England next month. The committee led by Neetu David has named young batting sensation Shefali Verma and fast bowler Shikha Pandey in the squad of all three formats. Mithali Raj will captain the only Test and three ODIs to be held on the round, while Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the T20 team.
According to news agency PTI, the selection committee discussed the name of Shweta Verma of Uttar Pradesh, but she has not scored 200 runs in the session.
