Meanwhile, the Sripanchayati Akhara Niranjani and Anand Akhara took the initiative on Thursday and announced to end the Kumbh Mela for the saints of their arena. Here, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has called a high-level meeting on the issue of prevention of Kovid on Friday. In this, a big decision can also be taken regarding the Kumbh Mela. It may also be decided to extend the night curfew, reduce attendance at offices and ban the entry of outsiders.
In Haridwar, Kumbh Mela is going on in these days, in which lakhs of saints and common devotees are reaching on the day of Shahi and festival bathing. Although it was mandatory for visitors to the fair to bring an RTPCR negative report of 72 hours interval, it is not being followed completely. In front of the crowd of devotees, Tantra is completing the formalities of following the Kovid investigation and other guidelines.
As a result of this, Haridwar became a hotspot of Corona within a fortnight. The phase of infection has not stopped, more than six hundred patients are getting daily. Corona has knocked to the arena. So far, 51 saints have been infected, including the President of the Akhara Council, Srimanta Narendra Giri. One of these Mahamandaleshwar has also died. Shrimant Narendra Giri is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Rishikesh. Samples of 200 more saints of Juna Arena were taken on Thursday. The saints who refused the Corona investigation until before the royal bath, have now agreed to give the sample.
Niranjani clarified on Thursday evening Shripanchayati Arena that Haridwar’s condition is not good at this time. Corona cases are increasing, so he will conclude the fair on 17 April. According to Srimanta Ravindra Puri of the Akhara, the saints migrating to the cantonment will return to the Akharas. All the saints who remain in the Mahatma Arena till 27 April will take a royal bath in a symbolic form. Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Balakanand Giri of Anand Akhara has also announced the end of Kumbh of his arena.
National General Secretary of the Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, Srimanta Harigiri, says that the Akharas have announced the end of their Kumbh, they welcome it. This is not the decision of the Arena Council. However, he urges everyone to follow the rules due to Corona’s growing transition. The council has already written to the government that in the event of increased infection, the Akhada will take a symbolic bath.
