New Delhi. Seeing the misuse of the Internet by terrorists, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) organized a two-day BRICS seminar on the issue. During this seminar (seminar), several stakeholders from both the public and private sectors discussed dealing with the misuse of the Internet by terrorists. They discussed extensively on increasing international cooperation to effectively deal with the misuse of the Internet by terrorists to carry out their nefarious activities.
A NIA spokesman said that the two-day seminar on ‘Misuse of Internet for Terrorism and the Role of Digital Forensics in Terrorist Investigation’ was organized by the Anti-Terrorism Investigation Agency through a virtual mode on 13-14 April.
The National Investigation Agency held a two-day conference of BRICS countries on April 13–14, which included Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
The seminar was inaugurated by Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
The statement said that the conference was organized by the NIA, as India is chairing the BRICS for 2021.
During this time it was emphasized that this can be dealt with only by measures based on international cooperation and by sharing good initiative and experiences.
In this seminar, 40 experts from five member countries discussed various technical sessions, including exploitation of social media, dark web and anonymous information content (dark web and anonymous), emerging technology and artificial intelligence, crypto currency and virtual assets and Digital forensics etc. were involved.
According to the statement, participants at the conference underlined the challenges related to the prevention, control and prosecution of Internet misuse by terrorists and also praised the current technology innovation and emerging digital landscape in this regard. The spokesman also said that with this cooperation we can create a safe environment for citizens of the whole world including BRICS member countries.
