Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh ATS has arrested two gang members who illegally entered the Bangladesh border into Uttar Pradesh. Both have been captured from Unnao and another from Ayodhya yesterday.
Uttar Pradesh ADG LO Prashant Kumar said that Uttar Pradesh ATS has arrested two Rohingya youths from Unnao. Both of them were involved in human trafficking and illegally brought people from Bangladesh border in India and took shelter in different cities of Uttar Pradesh. In this case Farooq alias Hasan and his brother Shahid were arrested. Farrukh was captured from Kasim Nagar in Unnao. Both of them used to bring Rohingya people illegally. After this, he used to work in all the factories of Unnao and Kanpur. Aadhar card, PAN card and passport have been found from them. Shahid, highly active in Ayodhya, has been arrested from Badi Chowk Noida. They have also got five lakh rupees along with many documents. Records of all Indian people have been found from them. There are about 1500-1600 Rohingyas in their contact. Farrukh and his brother Shahid were living as Indian citizens in Aligarh and Unnao through fake documents.
The ATS reached out to them on the basis of input from a young man picked up from Hyderabad city of Telangana. Farooq had been living in a rented house in Kasim Nagar, Unnao for five months, with a wife and four children. Shahid was detained by the Lucknow ATS from a slotter house in Unnao’s Achalganj Banthar. It has got many documents including Indigo Flight tickets, Bodag passes.
Mohammad Salim of Nepali origin has been arrested from Ayodhya. He was working as a teacher in a madrasa in Ayodhya. A Nepali passport has also been recovered from him. He also traveled abroad a few years ago. He has also made an Aadhaar card on fake Indian citizenship. Not only this, he was also in touch with Pakistani numbers through WhatsApp. The STF and other intelligence agencies are involved in the interrogation.
