Dehradun: It has been 120 hours since the disaster in Chamoli. Ten agencies, including Army, Air Force, Navy, NDRF, SDRF, are working hard to save 34 lives trapped in the tunnel. Work is going on in full swing within and outside the tunnel. Security agencies are constantly supporting the door of the family. The rescue operation, which has been going on for five days, may not have reached its mark, but expectations remain high, the spirits are up and efforts are continuing.
This is how the events of these five days went
Sunday 7 February: Rise in Rishiganga and Dhauliganga after the arrival of Avalanch near Raini village in the marginal Chamoli district. Barrage of Rishiganga Power Project and NTPC’s Vishnugad Hydro Project destroyed. SDRF, Army and Police carried out relief and rescue operations, 170 persons feared missing, 50 persons reported in two tunnels. 12 rescues done, 13 bodies found on the first day.
Monday 8 February: On the second day the number of missing persons reached 202, the exact number of persons trapped in the tunnel came out. The company said 34 personnel are trapped inside the tunnel. The work of removing debris from the tunnel continued day and night. The number of dead bodies found in the search operation in the surrounding area reached 26.
