Nainital: Due to lack of snow this time in Nainital, tourists and locals were disappointed. Whereas last year, due to good monsoon, people expected good snowfall. At the same time, the effect of La Nina could not get snowfall in Sarovar city this time. There is no possibility of snow in the coming weeks. Weather experts believe that the main reason for no snowfall is weak western disturbances.
Last year, Nainital was transformed into white more than a dozen times by a sheet of snow and hail. This time also the effect of La Nina was anticipated that the snowfall would continue. Sometimes the temperature made it favorable, dense clouds also aroused many times, but there was no snow. According to Dr. Narendra Singh, environmental senior scientist of Aryabhatta Observational Science Research Institute (ARIES), this time the Western disturbance started knocking, which had an impact in Kashmir and Himachal including high Himalayan, but Nainital And Mukteshwar remained deprived. The main reason for this was the weak western disturbance.
He said that there is still one month left for winter. Also, the shift of seasons has started. Due to this, there is a possibility of snow and hail. The effect of La Nina has also been seen in North India. Due to which the cold broke many old records. If powerful western disturbances become active in the coming days, there will be snowfall.
Snowfall occurred many times due to excess moisture
Last year the humidity in the atmosphere was very high till the late monsoon, due to which snowfall occurred more frequently. In comparison, this time the monsoon departed soon. Humidity was also very low compared to the previous year, due to which the mood of the season was mild.
La Nina maritime event, caused by a change in wind direction
La Niña is a Spanish language word, which means little girl. La-Nina is a maritime event setting the monsoon trend, which occurs after El-Nino in seven to eight years. In El-Nino, where the sea surface temperature increases very much, in La-Nina the sea surface temperature starts to decrease. The major reason behind this is the change in wind direction. It has a wind speed of 55 to 60 km in the sea areas. It runs at a speed of 20 to 25 km in the plains.
Active near the equator
Meteorologist Dr. SN Sunil Pandey said that La-Nina is active close to the Pacific Ocean around the equator. Its impact is visible in other continents. The hottest part of the Pacific Ocean lives close to the Mediterranean Sea. Due to the rotation of the Earth, there air moves from east to west, while in La-Nina it changes.
