Rudraprayag Cabinet Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat has been acquitted by the Additional District Judge’s court for violation of the code of conduct in the 2012 assembly elections. Cabinet Minister Dr. Rawat appeared in the District Court Rudraprayag on Monday. After completion of the hearing, the court of Additional District Judge Nandan Singh Rana acquitted Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat in the case of violation of Election Code of Conduct.
KP Khanna, Advocate of Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat, said that Dr. Rawat followed all the instructions given by the court earlier. It is to be noted that Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, who contested from the Congress Party from Rudraprayag Assembly in the 2012 Assembly Elections, was found guilty of violating the code of conduct.
On November 10 last year, the Chief Judicial Magistrate in the District Court, Shahzad Ahmad Wahid, was found guilty in the IPC section 143 and sentenced to three months in jail and a fine of one thousand rupees, while acquitted in sections 147 and 353. Dr. Rawat filed a petition against the conviction in the court of Upper District Judge on December 4, 2020. Under which the decision has been taken in favor of Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat after the completion of the hearing.
