new Delhi. Farmer leader Bhupinder Singh Mann has decided to withdraw from the committee appointed by the Supreme Court to hold talks with farmers on the issue of three new central agricultural laws. A four-member committee was constituted by the Supreme Court to hear the problem of the ongoing peasant movements against the agricultural law. In this committee, Bhupinder Singh Mann, President of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) was also included. However, he has now announced to leave the committee.
The Bharatiya Kisan Union tweeted a letter from Mann saying, “Bhupinder Singh Mann, former MP and national president of BKU and chairman of All India Kisan Coordination Committee, withdrew himself from the four-member committee constituted by the Supreme Court is.”
Mann’s comment could not be received at this time.
Mann has stated in the letter that he is thankful to the apex court for nominating him as one of the members of the committee to initiate dialogue with the protesting farmers.
He said, “As a farmer and a union leader, I am willing to relinquish any position, keeping in mind the apprehensions prevailing between the peasant unions and the public, so as to compromise the interests of the farmers of Punjab and the country.” Could not be done. I am separating myself from the committee and I will always stand with my farmers and Punjab. ”
Other members of the committee formed on January 12 include agricultural experts Ashok Gulati, Dr. Pramod Kumar Joshi and Anil Dhanwat.
