Lakhimpur A tigress killed a 42-year-old man inside a forest amidst Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) in Lakhimpur Kheri district. This information was provided by officers. This is the fourth death by a tiger attack in Singahi forests.
Forest officials suspect that a tigress with two cubs may have killed the deceased Pritam when he, along with three others, entered the forest on Tuesday afternoon to collect wood to burn.
Dudhwa (Buffer) divisional forest officer, Anil Patel said, “Despite our warnings, the local people entered the forest and one of them was killed by a tigress, she lives with her cubs in the area. The tigress gave the man Killed, but did not eat her corpse. The tigress became aggressive because of her cubs. ”
Earlier, the forest department had installed camera traps in the area after three people were killed in tiger attacks in the region.
These days a picture of a tigress with two cubs was captured. Since then the villagers were warned not to enter the forest.
The victim of Khamaria village was plowing on the border of Pritam forest and then a tigress suddenly pounced on him among the bushes and dragged him inside the forest.
Forest field workers found no tiger footprints outside the forest. However, at one place in the forest area, he noticed footprints and blood stains, indicating that the attack took place here.
In October last year, a man Gyan Singh was killed by a tiger and his remains were recovered in the forest area three days later.
Four days after the incident, a partially eaten carcass of a 60-year-old farmer who took his cattle inside the forest area for grazing was recovered.
In the same month, information was revealed about the death of 34-year-old Awadhesh Yadav who grazed cattle near the forest area.
