new Delhi. Today, on the first trading day of the week i.e. Monday, the domestic stock market started at the edge. The Sensex crossed the 48000 mark for the first time. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex rose 236.65 points to open at 48,105.63. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty opened with a gain of 74.40 points at 14,092.90. The market gained momentum today due to the news of the approval of two vaccines of Corona virus in India.
Among today’s major stocks, the shares of all the companies, except Reliance, opened on the green mark. These include Maruti, Ultratech Cement, Bajaj Finserv, M&M, Bajaj Auto, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, ONGC, TCS, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI, etc.
Due to all-round buying in the market, the total market cap of listed companies on the BSE has crossed Rs 190 lakh crore.
Today, Hong Kong’s Hangseng index is trading 172 points (0.63%) at 27,404 in Asian markets. In addition, China’s Shanghai Composite Index is also trading up 18 points at 3,491. The Sensex had closed 117.65 points up at 47,868.98 on the previous trading day. SBI, Infosys, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank, Reliance and TCS were the other major gainers in the index. On the other hand, the Nifty closed at 14,018.50 for the first time. The domestic stock market started at the edge on the previous trading day. The Sensex opened at a level of 47,872.03, up 120.70 points. At the same time, the Nifty opened 35.30 points at 14,017.10 level.
During the pre-open, the Sensex was up 97.17 points at 9.01 am to 47966.15. At the same time, the Nifty was at 73.30 points or 14091.80 level above. If we look at the sectoral index, then all the sectors opened on the green mark today. These include pharma, IT, FMCG, metal, finance services, realty, PSU banks, banks, private banks, media and auto.
