Badaun A case has been registered under the SC / ST Act against a barber for refusing to cut the hair of people belonging to Dalit community in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The case came to light when a video clip went viral in which the barber asked a Dalit youth to leave the shop for his caste.
In Kariyamai village of Badaun, the barber was heard saying that he would prefer to close his shop and not cut the hair of the youth of the Dalit caste.
Bilasi Circle Officer (CO) Anirudh Singh said, after talking to the local people, we came to know that the barber used to ask the customers belonging to the Dalit community to leave. This is not acceptable.
The barber has now escaped.
Bablu, who made a video of the incident, said that when he heard that the barber insults Dalits, he made a video of him for proof.
The barber has been running his shop for the last 15 years and according to Bablu, always refuses to cut the hair of any Dalit customer.
The circle officer said that the video clip is an important evidence and has been sent for forensic investigation.
