Chandigarh On the insistence of Punjab Government, all the Farmers Unions have evacuated all railway lines so that movement of goods trains across Punjab can be restored smoothly. In this regard, all 21 places demonstrated by farmers have been evacuated so that goods trains can run smoothly.
Giving this information, a spokesman of the Home Department said that for the smooth movement of goods trains in the state, all railway tracks in Punjab have been completely emptied at this time. Apart from this, Kisan Union workers are present on a railway platform in Jandiala in Amritsar district for which IG Border Range and SSP Amritsar are currently trying to evacuate the railway platform with the officials of Kisan Sangharsh Samiti.
He further informed that the traffic of passenger trains will also be possible a few days after the traffic of goods trains across Punjab, because the committee of ministers, in consultation with various farmers unions, will start the smooth movement of passenger trains for the larger public interest. Earlier, the Central Railway Board had said in a press conference that members of different farmer unions were present at 21 places but now those places have been vacated for movement of goods trains.
