On 31st March, while the whole country was celebrating Eid, four Muslim youths brutally raped a Hindu woman in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The incident is from a village in Sardhana police station area. The victim alleges that two acquaintances took her to a mango orchard by deceit. Two more of their companions were present there. All of them together committed gang rape on her there.
The police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim and arrested all the four accused. Further action is underway in the case. According to the victim, she knows two of the accused, Sartaj and Saddam. On Monday, these two took her to the mango orchard on some pretext. Two of their companions Maruf and Mushahid were already present there. All four of them together raped the woman.
The woman tried to save herself from the clutches of those beasts. But all four of them beat her up. They kept brutalizing her by holding her hands and legs. Hearing the woman’s screams, the nearby villagers reached there and informed the police. The police reached the spot and arrested all the four accused with the help of the villagers.

The accused have been identified as Sartaj (resident of Sardhana in Meerut) and Saddam, Maruf and Mushahid (all three residents of Muzaffarnagar). According to the police, all these youths had come to the village on the occasion of Eid and during this time they committed this heinous crime. The victim lodged a complaint about the incident, after which the police arrested the accused.
What did the SP say in the case?
Meerut’s SP Rural Rakesh Kumar said that a case has been registered on the complaint of the victim and strict action will be taken against the accused. He said that the police is investigating the matter thoroughly so that the victim can get justice.
