Agra. On Wednesday, in Etmadpur’s Rahankalan village, a young man reached his brother’s in-laws’ house and shot his sister-in-law dead. After this, the young man also shot himself and died. The bodies of both were found lying in the room.
Since the matter was mutual, the relatives of both remained silent. The police was also not given a complaint letter till late evening. The police is investigating the matter along with getting the post-mortem of both the bodies done.
The young man had reached his brother’s in-laws’ house
Abhishek, a resident of village Bajera of Nagla Singhi police station area of Firozabad district, has his in-laws’ house in village Rahankalan of Etmadpur police station area. On Wednesday morning around 10.30, Abhishek’s younger brother 20-year-old Deepak Kumar reached his brother’s in-laws’ house in Rahankalan village on a bike and started looking for his 20-year-old sister-in-law Jyoti.
First the girl, then shot himself
According to the information, when mother-in-law Sunita Devi asked Deepak about tea and breakfast, he expressed the desire for brother and cold drink. Sunita Devi went to get cold drink and water from the fridge. Meanwhile, the youth took Jyoti by the hand and took her to a room of the house and locked the door from inside. After talking for about 15 minutes, Deepak shot Jyoti with a pistol and then shot himself on the temple.
A case of one-sided love
On hearing the sound of gunshot, Sunita Devi and other relatives and villagers rushed to the spot. When the police reached the spot and broke the door, the bodies of both were lying there. On getting the information, the relatives of the youth also reached the spot. According to the police, Deepak was in one-sided love with Jyoti. He wanted to marry her, but the girl and her relatives were not ready for marriage. The youth committed the crime only after she refused to marry him.
ACP Piyushkant Rai said that after shooting the girl, the youth committed suicide by shooting himself. When the police team entered the room after breaking the door, the bodies of both were lying there. Further action will be taken after receiving the complaint.
Was pressurizing the girl for marriage
The young man was continuously pressurizing the girl for marriage. On Wednesday, he came home prepared. He reached his brother’s in-laws’ place with a pistol and two cartridges. While dragging Jyoti into the room, he also threatened to shoot her if she screamed, but the relatives ignored it. No one had imagined such an incident. There is mourning in both the families since the incident.
The young man’s brother was married five years ago
Abhishek was married to deceased Jyoti’s elder sister Bharti five years ago. Shortly after the marriage, Deepak started liking brother’s sister-in-law Jyoti. Relatives said that he asked her to marry him many times, but Jyoti refused every time.
The police have found a pistol and two cartridge shells from the room. One shell was lying on the ground and the other was stuck in the pistol. It is believed that after killing Jyoti, the young man himself was preparing to commit suicide, that is why he brought two cartridges. The relatives of the boy and the girl were silent on the matter. Neither side wanted any action. There was mourning in both the families since the incident.
The boy had come home just four days ago
Jyoti was a first year BTC student in Chhalesar’s SD Bhadawar College. The girl wanted to become a teacher. The boy was studying in Gujarat. He had come to the village just four days ago. The boy had left home on his bike saying that he would return in a while. No one had any idea that Deepak would commit such a crime after going to his brother’s in-laws’ house.
