The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday raided the premises of a Noida-based couple who are accused of shooting adult videos of models through webcam at their residence and selling them to a Cyprus-based company known for international pornographic content sites.
The investigating agency said in a statement that it seized Rs 8 lakh in cash during the raid conducted under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) in connection with the investigation against SubDigi Ventures Private Limited and its promoters.
Statements of models also recorded
The ED also recorded the statements of some models seen in these videos. These videos were found during the raid conducted under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). He said that the investigation is being conducted against a company called SubDigi Ventures Private Limited.
The couple used to run a webcam streaming studio
Sources said that the owners of the company are a Noida-based husband and wife, who allegedly ran a webcam streaming studio from their home for Technius Limited, a Cyprus-based company. He said that Technius Limited operates adult websites like xHamster and Stripchat.
Money was sought from foreign companies
The couple sought money from foreign companies in the bank, showing it as payment for advertising and market research. Investigation so far has revealed illegal foreign funding of Rs 15.66 crore. 75% of this amount was kept by the couple themselves and 25% was given to the models. ED has also recorded the statements of models working in the studio during the raid. Bank transactions and other financial transactions are being investigated in depth. ED may soon make more arrests in this case.
