Lucknow. Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) President Jayant Chaudhary on Monday filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha in the presence of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav. Jayant Choudhary may be the owner of movable and immovable assets worth more than Rs 52 crore but he does not own a car or two wheeler. He is not fond of gold and silver. He also has liabilities of Rs 2.48 crore.
According to the affidavit filed by RLD President Jayant Choudhary on Monday while filing nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections, Jayant himself has movable assets worth Rs 6.69 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 36.30 crore. His wife Charu Singh has movable assets worth Rs 2.94 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 2 crore.
RLD President Jayant Chaudhary’s two daughters Sahira and Elisha are also millionaires. Sahira has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 2.44 crores while Elisha has assets worth Rs 2 crores. Talking about cash, Jayant has only 12 thousand rupees while wife Charu has two lakh rupees. Charu also has jewelery worth Rs 30 lakh. Jayant, who did his MSc Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, does not have a single criminal case registered against him.
After completing the nomination process at the Vidhan Bhavan on Monday, Jayant Chaudhary expressed his gratitude to Akhilesh and other parties of the alliance, describing it as his honor to be sent to the Rajya Sabha. He said that he will raise the voice of the farmers and youth of UP in Parliament. At the same time, he once again reiterated his promise to fight the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with Akhilesh Yadav.
Jayant Chaudhary said that ‘I hope that the way the alliance has been fighting strongly, we will move forward with the same solidarity. I thank Akhilesh Yadav and all the workers of the alliance. The blessings given by the people and the SP alliance will always be remembered. As a representative of UP, I will strongly raise the issues here.
In the elections to be held on June 10 for 11 Rajya Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, SP is fielding its candidates on three seats. SP has made Jayant Chaudhary the joint candidate of the SP-RLD alliance. Apart from Jayant, the SP has fielded Kapil Sibal and Javed Ali Khan, who were Union ministers in the UPA government, who left the Congress party. Both of them have already made their nominations.
