Lucknow. The Bharatiya Janata Party has declared the names of two more candidates out of the 11 seats of the UP quota falling vacant in the Rajya Sabha. Earlier on Sunday, the names of six candidates were announced. In this way, the BJP has announced the names of a total of eight candidates. All the candidates will file their nominations on the last day i.e. on Tuesday, May 31.
Many names kept running in the discussion and the BJP high command was shocked by the announcement of two candidates remaining for the Rajya Sabha elections. The party’s National President of Backward Classes Front, Hyderabad resident Dr. K. It has been decided to send Laxman to Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, adjusting the Dalit class, as a second candidate, the name of former Shahjahanpur MP Mithlesh Kumar, who left the SP and joined the BJP, has been stamped. All the eight candidates will file their nominations on Tuesday, the last day.
In the Rajya Sabha, BJP has fielded eight and SP has three candidates for the 11 seats falling vacant for the quota of Uttar Pradesh. The BJP had declared six candidates on Sunday. These include former BJP state president Dr. Laxmikant Bajpai, former Gorakhpur MLA Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, BJP Mahila Morcha National Vice President Dr. Darshana Singh, State Backward Classes Finance Development Corporation President Baburam Nishad and former Chauri-Chaura MLA Sangeeta. Apart from Yadav, the current Rajya Sabha member was Surendra Singh Nagar.
In such a situation, there were indications that among the other four MPs whose term is expiring along with Nagar, none of them will get a chance again. Waiting for the announcement of the two remaining candidates was making many claimants restless. Late night party Dr.K. The names of Laxman and Mithlesh Kumar were announced.
The party has not given a second chance to sitting Rajya Sabha members Shivpratap Shukla, Zafar Islam, Jaiprakash Nishad and Sanjay Seth. In this way, now eight candidates have been declared. Tuesday is the last day for nominations. The eight candidates of the party will reach the Central Hall of the Vidhan Bhavan to file their nominations.
On the basis of the number of votes of the MLAs, the victory of eight BJP candidates is certain, while the SP will win three seats. The SP has nominated Javed Ali as the Muslim face and the country’s well-known lawyer and former Union Minister Kapil Sibal as its candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections. The third candidate has been made Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Chaudhary.
Backward has the upper hand: Uttar Pradesh has the largest population of backward classes. Therefore, this section is being given special priority in the BJP’s election strategy. With the help of the eight Rajya Sabha candidates who have been declared so far, an attempt has been made to create a caste-regional equation for the Lok Sabha elections. If we look at the total candidates, Surendra Singh Nagar, Baburam Nishad, Sangeeta Yadav and Dr.K. Lakshmana is gone. Dr. Laxmikant Bajpai, Dr. Darshana Singh and Dr. Radha Mohan Das became Agrawal from the upper castes. Depressed class was missing in this, which has been adjusted by making Mithlesh Kumar a candidate.
