Patiala / Bathinda / Sangrur / Ludhiana. Angry at the murderous attack on BJP MLA Arun Narang in Malot in Muktsar and tearing of clothes, the BJP workers on Thursday staged a furious protest against the Punjab government at Anardana Chowk in Patiala and burnt the effigy of CM Captain Amarinder Singh. At the same time, farmer leaders have shied away from the incident. United Kisan Morcha says that fighting is not on their agenda.
At Ghantaghar Chowk in Ludhiana, BJP workers burnt effigies of the Chief Minister and shouted slogans against the government. Apart from the Chief Minister, BJP leaders also shouted slogans against DGP Punjab. The protest was led by Kushagra Kashyap, the district head of BJYM. A large number of activists attended the demonstration including district BJP chief Pushpendra Singal, former chief Ravinder Arora, state vice-president Praveen Bansal, state treasurer Gurdev Sharma Debi. In order to prevent the farmers or any other organization from reaching the BJP demonstration, the police laid a heavy siege. A large number of police personnel, including ADCP, ACP, laid siege to the protest site.
In Patiala, there was a protest against the Punjab government led by BJP district president Harinder Kohli, state executive members SK Dev and Sukhwinder Kaur Naulakha. BJP leaders have demanded that the strongest action should be taken against the accused of this shameful incident that happened to BJP MLA Arun Narang and the Punjab government should resign.
Demand for imposition of President’s rule immediately in Punjab
BJP leaders also demonstrated in Sangrur under the leadership of District President Randeep Diol to protest against the attack on MLA Arun Narang in Malot. During this, he blew the effigy of CM Captain Amarinder Singh and demanded immediate imposition of President’s rule in Punjab. The BJP leaders declared that if the Punjab Police cannot protect them under the direction of the government, now they will protect themselves and give a befitting reply to such incidents.
Haryana CM also condemned the incident
Haryana CM Manohar Lal has also condemned the assault on BJP MLA in Punjab. CM tweeted and wrote- I condemn the murderous and indecent incident in Malot with MLA Arun Narang ji from Abohar Assembly Constituency in Punjab, such incident with elected representative of public symbolizes law and order and failure of Congress Government in Punjab is.
Increased security in Ludhiana office
After the incident with the BJP MLA in Malot, Ludhiana Police has increased the security of BJP’s district office in Ludhiana. Police force is being deployed outside the BJP office by barricating. After the attack on the BJP MLA in Malot, the anger of the BJP is on the seventh sky in the entire state.
Farmer leader said – Attacking is not on our agenda
After the attack on BJP MLA Arun Narang, farmer leaders are shying away from the incident of violence. Darshanpal, the Convenor of the United Kisan Morcha said that tearing or beating the clothes of any leader is not in our agenda. Whoever did this work has done very wrong, but it is the central government responsible. People are drawing anger at younger leaders over the Centre’s mistake.
State General Secretary of Bakiu Ugrahan Shingara Singh Mann said that this incident is highly condemnable. Protests should remain to some extent. The government should also understand how long people will be patient. The central government is responsible for this incident. We have not yet been able to find out which unions were members there, but some videos have been found in which no flag of our organization was shown.
Mothu Singh Kotra, senior vice-president of Bhakiyu Ugrahan, said that tearing or attacking clothes is wrong. We can perform fury by showing black flags. The attack is reprehensible and can be the act of mischievous elements. Ruldu Singh Mansa, the head of the Kisan Ekta Morcha said that we are holding a meeting of the United Front. We will investigate this matter. Only then can it be said.
Only something can be said after investigation
Kaka Singh Kotra, state senior vice president of Bhakiyoo Sidhupur, said that we and members of some other organizations were on the scene. United Kisan Morcha has asked for peaceful protest, but do not know what would have happened there that people had to carry out this incident. The head of our organization will investigate this matter, if the role of the members of our organization comes to light in this incident, he will take responsibility for it. After the investigation, he will be talking to the media in Muktsar on Sunday.
