Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma said that a check meter should be installed immediately in the premises of the consumer as soon as the complaints of problems with jumping meters or speeding are encountered. The Energy Minister reviewed the power supply of the capital at the headquarters of Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam. During this, he said that a check meter should be installed in the premises of the consumer immediately as soon as a consumer complains about problems with jumping meters or running fast. He also instructed to ensure that this check meter belongs to another company. Said that consumer satisfaction is important. For this, the Energy Department will have to take effective steps.
The Energy Minister directed that in the coming summer under the capital and DISCOMs, all the metros falling under the necessary resources will be mobilized for the free and uninterrupted supply.
Shrikant said that all the Chief Engineers should audit the sub-centers under them, wherever there are deficiencies, all the work of rectifying them should be completed in time. He said that there is no shortage of electricity in the state. Consumers will get uninterrupted power in Deepawali. He also directed to review additional preparations for uninterrupted supply.
He also reviewed the Door Knock campaign and said that officers should listen to consumers, solve their problems. Instead of cutting off the electricity of defaulters, knock on their doors, give them necessary facilities. Disconnection is not an option. “We have to connect with consumers, it requires honest efforts by ourselves.”
