Gorakhpur On the instructions of Municipal MLA Dr. Radha Mohandas Agarwal, complaints of smart meter speeding came in the camp of the electricity corporation in Rampur Naya village. Also 80 consumers complained about connection, bill, meter reading, meter malfunction, power supply. Of these, 25 were disposed off. Even after low consumption, the city legislators themselves reached the homes of consumers complaining of higher bills. He looked at the number of devices and instructed the officers to reform the bill. It was decided that consumers with one kilowatt capacity and power consumption up to 100 units per month would be classified as lifeline. The bill for each of their units will be three rupees.
Every household gets connections
The city MLA said that there are 706 connections at the Rampur new village feeder, but the houses are very much built. Officers have been instructed to survey every house. Where there is no connection, give the notice by giving notice to them. On taking a connection of one kilowatt, a deposit of Rs 1858 is deposited in the electricity corporation and Rs 2217 on taking a connection of two kilowatts. Action will be taken against those seeking more than this. Citizens of the area said that many houses have had connections for three years but till now meters have not been installed. They are not getting the bill where the meter is installed.
