Abu Dhabi On Tuesday, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face the in-form Delhi Capitals in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In this match played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Delhi will try to score a hat-trick of victory and Hyderabad will try to stop a hat-trick of defeat. While Delhi is doing well, Hyderabad is still waiting for victory.
Delhi have won both their previous matches and Hyderabad have lost. Delhi’s two matches so far have been almost perfect. Luck was also with him in the first match, so his victory in the Super Over against Kings XI Punjab came in his favor. In the second match, he defeated Chennai Super Kings by his excellent performance.
Young Prithvi Shaw had his bat against Chennai. Shaw had scored a half-century. Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant and captain Shreyas Iyer also played good innings. The way the batting order of Delhi is, the big score does not seem far away and it is quite possible that big scores can be seen on the scoreboard of Delhi against Hyderabad.
Shaw scored 64 runs off 43 balls in the previous match. Dhawan, Iyer and Pant had scored runs but not in the style for which they are known. In this match, Delhi would like that these three batsmen especially Pant returned to his old rhythm.
Delhi looks very strong in bowling. Cagiso Rabada, Enrique Nortje also did well in the previous match. Akshar Patel and Amit Mishra were also effective. What is the status of Ravichandran Ashwin. Nothing has been revealed on this yet. If Ashwin comes, Amit Mishra may have to go out.
If Hyderabad want a win, they will have to sort out the problems of their batting order. After Johnny Bairstow, David Warner and to a lesser extent Manish Pandey, the team does not have a batsman who can run fast enough to meet the need of T20 formats.
Hyderabad has suffered the same deficiency in both matches. If Warner, Bairstow go, then the team score is good but if both of them are out early, then it is also difficult for the team to make a respectable score.
Mohammad Nabi can show some speed, but Hyderabad needs a player like Andre Russell, Kieran Pollard. Priyam Garg, Wriddhimana Saha, Abhishek Sharma are not able to play this role nor do they have the experience that the team needs in the lower order. Hyderabad needs to work here.
As far as bowling is concerned, Hyderabad can do anything here. He also has the ability to save low scores. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the axis of fast bowling aggression. Sandeep Sharma supports them well.
In spin, the team has a spinner like Rashid Khan and if the team does not make changes then Mohammad Nabi can also play an important role with the ball. Hyderabad will also have to work on team combination.
