Lucknow. Lucknow history sheeter Surendra Kalia, who has been absconding for allegedly attacking himself to get a police gun and escaping arrest, was found hiding in Kolkata, West Bengal. Lucknow Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Somen Burma told reporters, “A team has been sent from Kolkata to take Surendra Kalia on remand. A cash reward of Rs 50,000 has been placed on Kalia’s head. He is also an extortion racket. Runs and also takes railway contracts. ”

The Kolkata Police raided Kalia during the campaign to enforce the lockdown. Kolkata police officials said that he was staying at the hotel with the false identity of Surendra Kumar.
Kolkata Police recovered a 9mm pistol from Surendra’s possession and registered a case under the Arms Act.
Kalia has more than 20 criminal cases against him. He allegedly attacked himself near a hospital in Alambagh area on July 14, injuring his personal gunner Ramroop Yadav.
