The Union Health Ministry has issued the SOP issued for the reopening of schools for students of Class IX to XII. Classes will be started from September 21. The Ministry said- Schools are free to take a decision to start their studies. The SOP states that permission for online / distance learning will continue.
In the rules issued, teachers, students and school staff have to keep a distance of 6 feet. Things such as frequent hand washing, wearing a face cover, placing a hand on the mouth when sneezing, monitoring one’s own health, and spitting have to be taken care of.
Schools can call up to 50 percent of their teaching and non-teaching staff for online teaching / tele-counseling and other related activities. Students from ninth to 12th will be allowed if they want to go to school to seek guidance from their teachers. However, they will have to seek written consent from their parents or guardians. Students will also have the option to study online.
