Lucknow. Former Mining Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, who was jailed in the rape case, was granted interim bail by the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on Friday. Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, admitted to King George’s Medical College in Lucknow, had filed a bail plea citing Corona virus infection. Justice Ved Prakash Vaish of Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court, while hearing the bail application, has granted an interim bail of 2 months. Prajapati has been granted bail by the court with a personal bond of five lakh rupees and a condition of two sureties.
The court granted two-month interim bail after the hearing. The court stipulates that he will not leave the country during interim bail. Also, keep your mobile on all the time.
Gayatri’s lawyer from court S.K. Singh cited KGMU’s report that it clearly stated that the risk of coronavirus in KGMU patients is high. On hearing this, the court ordered the public prosecutor to clear the entire situation.
Gayatri Prasad Prajapati’s first bail application was rejected. Even after this, he applied and said that he is suffering from serious disease. Therefore, he should be given bail to get treatment. On the court’s order, Prajapati is being treated at KGMU. Now this time Prajapati has argued that the department of KGMU in which he is admitted is at risk of infection with coronavirus, because this ward is close to the corona ward.
It may be known that a case of gang rape was registered in 2017 against Gayatri Prajapati, who was a cabinet minister in Akhilesh Yadav government. In the case, on June 3, 2017, a charge sheet was filed against Gayatri and six others, after which on 18 July 2017, Lucknow’s Poxo Special Court filed a case against all the seven accused.
